NEW DELHI, October 16 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday evening published the scrutinized written examination results for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA/NA II) 2026 on its portal upsc.gov.in.
According to the Commission's gazetted merit list, over 8,140 candidates who appeared for the Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT) papers in September 2026 have qualified for the decisive five-day intelligence and personality evaluation conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB) under the Ministry of Defence. Successful cadets will enter the 154th Course of the NDA and the 116th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing in July 2027.
Shortlisted candidates must complete mandatory candidate registration on the Indian Army recruitment portal within 14 days of result declaration to receive reporting call-up letters and testing batch allocations across Bhopal, Prayagraj, Bengaluru, and Kapurthala SSB centers.
The institutional legacy of the National Defence Academy (established at Khadakwasla, Pune, in 1954 as the world's premier tri-service military academy), the constitutional oversight of UPSC under Article 320, gender integration jurisprudence (Kush Kalra v. Union of India 2021), and officer induction norms represent high-yield general knowledge areas for defense aspirants.
