NEW DELHI, October 11 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Sunday published the written examination results for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2026 on its official website (upsc.gov.in), shortlisting 1,940 candidates to appear for the Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Tests (PET), and Medical Standards Tests (MST).
The recruitment drive fills 506 Group 'A' Gazetted Officer vacancies across five central paramilitary forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs: Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Shortlisted candidates must submit their online Detailed Application Form (DAF) between October 14 and October 25, 2026.
Physical efficiency evaluations—comprising 100-meter sprints, 800-meter middle-distance runs, long jump, and shot put—will be conducted across designated nodal centers supervised by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in November 2026. Candidates clearing physical and medical thresholds will be summoned for the 150-mark Personality Test at UPSC Dholpur House, with final merit aggregated across Paper-I (250 marks), Paper-II (200 marks), and the Interview.
Border guarding mandates of India's paramilitary forces (BSF along Pakistan and Bangladesh borders, ITBP along the Line of Actual Control with China, SSB along open Nepal and Bhutan borders, Assam Rifles along the Indo-Myanmar frontier, and CRPF/CISF for internal security and vital industrial infrastructure protection) are foundational topics for UPSC CAPF, CDS, and Civil Services (GS-III: Border Management).
