NEW DELHI, October 7 — The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in coordination with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) nodal recruitment authority on Wednesday released the official schedule for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for 39,481 Constable (General Duty) vacancies across Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
According to the joint administrative directive, physical screening assessments for approximately 315,000 shortlisted candidates who crossed normalized cutoff thresholds in the computer-based written test will run from November 4 to November 25, 2026, across 85 designated CAPF composite hospital and battalion headquarters. Downloadable biometric e-admit cards will be hosted on the CRPF recruitment portal `rect.crpf.gov.in` starting October 15.
The grueling PET standards mandate that male candidates complete a continuous 5-kilometer endurance run within 24 minutes, while female candidates must complete a 1.6-kilometer track run within 8 minutes and 30 seconds (with relaxed athletic benchmarks applicable to Ladakh regional domiciles). Candidates qualifying height, chest, and weight calibrations will advance directly to the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) round to determine final combat fitness.
Administrative command structures of Central Armed Police Forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs, operational border mandates (BSF guarding Pakistan/Bangladesh frontiers; ITBP guarding the LAC; SSB securing Nepal/Bhutan borders; and CISF protecting critical infrastructure), and CAPF cadre rules are frequent topics in SSC GD, CAPF (AC), and general awareness examinations. Candidates should note that all seven central forces operate directly under the statutory authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), rather than the Ministry of Defence.
