NEW DELHI, October 16 — The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Friday evening officially notified the Constable (General Duty) Examination 2027 on its portal ssc.gov.in, announcing a massive recruitment drive to fill 39,481 vacancies across Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Special Security Force (SSF), and the Assam Rifles.
As per the employment notification, matriculate (Class 10 pass) male and female candidates between 18 and 23 years of age can register online from October 16 through November 20, 2026. The sanctioned vacancies are distributed across premier frontier forces including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is scheduled for January–February 2027 across bilingual formats in English, Hindi, and 13 recognized regional languages. The 60-minute objective paper tests General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi comprehension (80 questions, 160 marks), serving as the shortlisting filter for the subsequent Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
The institutional lineage of the Staff Selection Commission, the operational deployment of CAPFs under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the constitutional mandate under Article 355, the Eighth Schedule linguistic policies, and uniform pay structures under the 7th Central Pay Commission form staple study areas for SSC and paramilitary competitive examinations.
