NEW DELHI, October 11 — Commemorating the birth anniversaries of 'Loknayak' Jayaprakash Narayan (born October 11, 1902) and Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh (born October 11, 1916), the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Rural Development on Sunday announced the milestone distribution of over 2 crore legal rural property cards under the SVAMITVA drone-mapping scheme alongside 100 percent integration of 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats onto the e-GramSwaraj-PFMS digital accounting interface.
During commemorative proceedings at Samvidhan Sadan, government leadership underscored how Jayaprakash Narayan’s philosophy of 'Sampoorna Kranti' (Total Revolution) and participatory grassroots democracy, paired with Nanaji Deshmukh’s Chitrakoot Gramodaya model of rural self-reliance, anchor contemporary rural transformation policies under Mission Antyodaya 2.0.
The Ministry confirmed that continuous geospatial drone mapping of inhabited rural ('Abadi') lands under the SVAMITVA framework has unlocked formal institutional credit for rural homeowners while eliminating longstanding revenue boundary disputes. Furthermore, ₹60,000 crore in tied grants recommended by the 15th Finance Commission have been channeled directly to local bodies for rural drinking water and ODF-Plus sanitation maintenance.
Modern Indian History milestones associated with Jayaprakash Narayan (Congress Socialist Party 1934, underground 'Azad Dasta' guerrilla resistance during the 1942 Quit India Movement, Sarvodaya & Bhoodan movements, 1974 Bihar Movement, and posthumous Bharat Ratna in 1999), Nanaji Deshmukh's social reconstruction legacy (Bharat Ratna 2019), and the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act 1992 (Part IX, Eleventh Schedule) are high-yield themes across UPSC Civil Services (GS-I & GS-II) and State PSC examinations.
