MUMBAI, October 8 — The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on Thursday activated the online download portal for preliminary examination call letters for the Common Recruitment Process for Specialist Officers (CRP SPL-XIV) on its official website (ibps.in).
The nationwide computer-based test (CBT) will be administered on November 9, 2026, across designated centers to shortlist candidates for 896 sanctioned vacancies across eleven participating public sector commercial banks. Notified Scale-I specialist positions include Agricultural Field Officer (AFO), IT Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer.
The preliminary testing framework comprises 150 objective multiple-choice questions evaluating Reasoning, English Language, and either Quantitative Aptitude or Banking General Awareness across three strictly timed 40-minute sections. IBPS highlighted that preliminary scores are exclusively qualifying in nature and will not factor into final merit calculations, which depend entirely on Main Examination marks and subsequent interviews.
Selection protocols under IBPS, the structure of Priority Sector Lending (PSL) mandates governed by the Reserve Bank of India, and banking statutory frameworks (Banking Regulation Act 1949 and RBI Act 1934) are key study topics across Banking and Financial Sector competitive examinations. Candidates should note that public sector banks operate under unified IBPS recruiting frameworks, with specialist cadre officers serving critical roles in digital infrastructure, rural credit disbursal, and non-performing asset legal resolutions.
