AP Excise Constable Recruitment - Pattern, Syllabus & Prep

Excise Constables serve the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition and Excise Department. The state job calendar for 2026 (G.O.Ms.No.81, 22 August 2026) lists Excise Constable posts in Phase III, and the combined Phase III and IV notification was expected around 15 October 2026. As of 10 October 2026 no Excise Constable notification has been issued, so this guide does not state vacancy numbers, dates, age limits, fee or an official written-test pattern. It explains the department, the likely selection stages based on earlier uniformed-post recruitments in the state, and how to prepare now.

What is the AP Excise Constable exam pattern?

No official pattern exists for the 2026 cycle yet. Uniformed-post recruitments in Andhra Pradesh (police constable, jail warder, fireman under SLPRB Rc.91/2026) use a preliminary written test, physical measurement and efficiency tests, and a final written test of 200 objective questions in 3 hours with no negative-marking clause. Our Excise Constable practice papers follow that 200-question layout as a working assumption; the notification will fix the real scheme, and we will re-tag the papers to it.

What is the AP Excise Constable syllabus?

Expected areas, pending the notification: general knowledge with an Andhra Pradesh focus (history, geography, polity, economy, schemes), current affairs, arithmetic and reasoning at Intermediate standard, general science, and basics of the Prohibition and Excise set-up in the state (the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act, 1968 and the Prohibition Act, 1995, the department structure and enforcement). Read the official syllabus when it is published.

What is a good AP Excise Constable cut-off?

No official cut-offs are available for Excise Constable. They will depend on the vacancy count, the local cadre and reservation category, and will be published by the recruiting agency after the exam.

How should I prepare for AP Excise Constable?

Prepare as for the AP Police Constable preliminary test: a daily arithmetic and reasoning set, AP general knowledge from our state guide and notes, general science at Class 10 level, and current affairs. Start running now; physical standards for uniformed posts in the state are usually close to the police constable standards (1600 m, 100 m and long jump), though the Excise notification will give its own. Keep documents for age, qualification, community and local status ready.
