Scheme of examination
A single-level computer-based recruitment test (CBRT). There is no Screening Test, irrespective of the number of applications.
| Paper | Subject | Questions | Duration | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper-I | General Studies and Mental Ability | 150 | 150 minutes | 150 |
| Paper-II | Education | 150 | 150 minutes | 150 |
| Total | 300 | 300 |
Both papers are objective, at degree standard. The question paper is set in English and translated into Telugu; the English version is authentic if the two differ.
Negative marking
One-third of the marks for a question is deducted for every wrong answer. Unanswered questions carry no penalty.
Arithmetic, not the notification's words: with one mark a question, a wrong answer costs 0.33. A pure guess among four options breaks even on average; a guess after eliminating one option gains, on average, about 0.11 a question. So answer when you can rule out at least one option and leave the rest blank.
Normalisation
If the test is held in several sessions, scores are normalised and the result is given on a percentile basis. The method is the Commission's; the notification does not give a formula that we can reproduce here.
Computer Proficiency Test
After the written test, a qualifying Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) is held: practical, 60 minutes, 100 marks.
| Category | Minimum marks out of 100 |
|---|---|
| SC, ST, PBD | 30 |
| BC | 35 |
| OC | 40 |
CPT marks are not added to merit. The test decides only whether you stay on the list.
Posts by department
| Department | Posts |
|---|---|
| Social Welfare | 41 |
| Tribal Welfare | 23 |
| BC Welfare | 33 |
| Total | 97 |
What this means for practice
Our suggestion: 150 questions in 150 minutes is 60 seconds a question in each paper, and the two papers are the same length, so practise both at the same pace instead of treating Education as a lighter paper. Sit timed sets on a screen, because the test is computer-based. Full mocks on Pareeksha are Pro; the 10-question mini-mock and Daily Dangal are free.
What this page does not have
