The advice here is ours; the facts come from APPSC Notification No. 25/2026 (detailed notification of 9 October 2026). The exam date is not announced, so the plan is organised by paper, not by week. Read the syllabus and exam pattern first.
Start from the scheme, not from habit
| Paper | Subject | Questions | Marks | Minutes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper-I | General Studies and Mental Ability | 150 | 150 | 150 |
| Paper-II | Education | 150 | 150 | 150 |
Two equal papers, 300 marks, one-third negative marking, a single-level computer-based test with no Screening Test, and a qualifying Computer Proficiency Test afterwards. Candidates who arrive from General Studies preparation for other APPSC notifications are punished by this scheme, because half the marks are in Education.
Treat Education as a full subject paper
The qualification is graduation with B.Ed. or equivalent, so the Commission expects B.Ed.-level command of Education. Download Annexure-II from psc.ap.gov.in, list every Education heading, and give each a reading pass, a notes pass and a question pass. Do not rely on memory of the B.Ed. course; the paper is objective, at degree standard, and set to the annexure's wording. Keep Education in every study week until the test.
Revise General Studies with the Andhra Pradesh emphasis
Paper-I's ten items put Andhra Pradesh inside current affairs, history and geography; a general India GS book gives the frame, and the Andhra Pradesh depth must be added deliberately. Two reminders:
- There is no language section, so General English or General Telugu time earns nothing here.
- Reasoning and data analysis are separate items; practise mean, median, mode and variance as formula questions.
Practise 60 seconds a question
150 questions in 150 minutes is one minute a question, in both papers. Our method: sit timed sets on a screen, because the test is computer-based; mark every answer as sure, eliminated-to-two or guess, and review the last group after each set; and track the score the Commission would compute, right minus one-third of wrong.
Use the break-even rule
Arithmetic from the marking scheme, not the notification's words: a wrong answer costs one-third of a mark, so a blind guess among four options averages zero, and a guess after eliminating one option averages a small gain. Answer only when you can rule out at least one option.
Do not neglect the Computer Proficiency Test
The CPT is practical, 60 minutes and 100 marks, with minimum marks of 30 for SC, ST and PBD, 35 for BC and 40 for OC. It adds nothing to merit but can remove you from the list, so give it one slot a week on a real computer from the start.
Before you apply
- Update your OTPR before 29 October 2026; district and local status follow the Andhra Pradesh Presidential Order, 2025, and flow from OTPR into the application.
- Check the age condition: 18 to 44 years as on 1 July 2026, with 5 years extra for SC, ST, BC and EWS and 10 for persons with benchmark disabilities.
- Keep the degree and B.Ed. certificates ready.
Practice on Pareeksha
Full mocks and topic practice are Pro. The 10-question mini-mock and Daily Dangal are free and enough to start a daily habit.
What this page does not have
A week-by-week calendar (no exam date yet), the Education topic list (Annexure-II of the notification), and any claim about applicant numbers or competition level.
