MUMBAI, August 4 — The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is scheduled to announce its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decision on interest rates on Wednesday, August 5, concluding its three-day meeting.
Led by Governor Shaktikanta Das, the committee has been reviewing domestic inflation trends, liquidity conditions, and global economic factors since Monday. Financial analysts expect the central bank to keep the benchmark repo rate unchanged to balance growth with target inflation levels.
The policy statement will also outline the RBI's economic growth (GDP) projections and retail inflation targets for the upcoming quarters of the financial year.
Repo rate and monetary policy details are heavily tested in bank and insurance exams. Candidates should note that the final policy rates will be updated live on official banking exam prep portals on Wednesday.
