NEW DELHI, October 5 — The coordinating Indian Institute of Management (IIM) has operationalized the official online correction window for the Common Admission Test (CAT 2026), permitting registered candidates to rectify designated application fields ahead of the national entrance examination.
According to the official candidate advisory, the correction facility remains active on `iimcat.ac.in` from October 5 to October 8, 2026 (closing at 5:00 PM). Permissible edits are strictly restricted to three parameters: candidate photograph, signature, and test city preferences. Core identity credentials including candidate name, date of birth, category, and contact details cannot be altered to preserve registration authenticity.
CAT 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on November 29, 2026 across 170 cities nationwide in three computer-based test sessions. The two-hour assessment comprises three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). Official admit cards will be downloadable from November 5 onwards.
Management education frameworks, apex autonomous institutes, and the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017 form recurrent subjects in education and public institution syllabi. Candidates should note that the IIM Act, 2017 declared all 21 Indian Institutes of Management as "Institutes of National Importance," empowering them to grant degrees rather than diplomas.
