NEW DELHI, October 5 — The Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), the implementing agency under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has invited applications for 178 executive vacancies across technical, quality-control, and procurement cadres under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
Notified positions include Pharmacist, Quality Control Analyst, Procurement Executive, IT Systems Officer, and Supply Chain Manager. Candidates holding recognized qualifications in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm), Management (MBA), or Engineering (B.Tech) are eligible to submit applications through the dedicated portal until October 15, 2026. Selection will be conducted through computer-based screening followed by domain technical interviews.
Appointees will oversee pharmaceutical quality-testing, cold-chain storage logistics, and inventory management across central and regional Jan Aushadhi drug depots, receiving consolidated remuneration ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 per month alongside standard travel allowances.
Public healthcare access, generic drug affordability initiatives, and central pharmaceutical governance are recurring themes in civil services social justice and public health syllabi. Candidates should note that PMBJP was initiated in 2008 and comprehensively revamped in 2015 to provide high-quality generic medicines at prices 50% to 90% lower than branded equivalents through a nationwide network of over 10,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
