LUCKNOW, October 6 — The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Tuesday released the operational timetable for Document Verification and Physical Standard Testing (DV/PST) facilitating the induction of 60,244 Constables (Civil Police) across the state law enforcement apparatus on `uppbpb.gov.in`.

According to the official circular, the rigorous physical screening process will commence during the first week of November across designated police lines spanning eight zonal headquarters: Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Bareilly, and Agra. The Board has shortlisted approximately 150,000 candidates—representing 2.5 times the advertised vacancies—based on normalized score cut-offs achieved in the state-wide written examination.

Prescribed physical standards require male candidates to demonstrate a minimum height of 168 cm (160 cm for ST) and unexpanded/expanded chest circumferences of 79/84 cm, while female applicants must meet a minimum height of 152 cm (147 cm for ST) and minimum body mass of 40 kg. Candidates clearing biometric document verification and height-chest calibration will advance to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), consisting of a non-timed-out 4.8 km run for men (within 25 minutes) and 2.4 km run for women (within 14 minutes).

State policing administrative architectures, law and order governance under the Seventh Schedule, and biometric recruitment protocols feature prominently across UPPSC State Services and regional police competitive assessments. Candidates should note that the Uttar Pradesh Police represents the largest single police force under a unified command structure in the world, administratively headed by the Director General of Police (DGP) headquartered at Signum Tower in Lucknow.
