NEW DELHI, October 12 — The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), under the Ministry of Railways, on Monday notified the finalized Computer-Based Test (CBT-1) timetable for 11,558 vacancies of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) advertised under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN 03/2026).
According to the official exam notification published across all 21 zonal RRB portals, the multi-shift CBT-1 nationwide examination is scheduled from December 6 to December 13, 2026. The stage-1 paper will feature 100 objective multiple-choice questions across Mathematics (30 marks), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 marks), General Awareness (15 marks), and General Science (30 marks) with a composite time limit of 90 minutes. A negative marking penalty of one-third (1/3rd) marks applies for incorrect responses.
The Railway Board stated that the exam city intimation link and travel passes for eligible SC/ST candidates will activate ten days prior to scheduled exam dates, while downloadable e-call letters will be issued exactly four days before examination. Mandatory Aadhaar-based biometric authentication will be enforced at examination test centers to prevent impersonation.
The administrative governance of the Railway Recruitment Boards (coordinated centrally by the Railway Recruitment Control Board - RRCB under the Railway Board), standard score percentile normalization methods applied across multi-session CBTs, and technical cadres across Indian Railways zones are vital information areas for RRB JE, SSC JE, and state public works engineering candidates.
