The qualified candidates will compete for 3,712 sanctioned vacancies across Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO) cadres across central government departments. The computer-based Tier-II examination—slated for late November 2026—comprises two sessions evaluating Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, alongside a mandatory qualifying Computer Knowledge Module and a 15-minute Data Entry Speed Test (DEST).
Centralized clerical cadre recruitments, the statutory role of the Staff Selection Commission under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), multi-shift score normalization formulas, and pay scales under the 7th CPC (Level 2 initial basic ₹19,900 and Level 4 ₹25,500) are standard benchmarks across SSC CHSL, SSC MTS, and state clerical examinations.
