VIJAYAWADA / AMARAVATI, October 8 — The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has released the annual Socio-Economic Survey, indicating that the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) registered an impressive nominal growth rate of 10.2 percent, outpacing the national economic average.
According to the official macroeconomic audit, Per Capita Income (PCI) for Andhra Pradesh advanced to ₹2,42,000, driven predominantly by resilient performances across the Primary Sector (Agriculture and Allied activities), which recorded a 13.5 percent sectoral growth rate. Andhra Pradesh solidified its status as India's undisputed aquaculture hub, contributing over 36 percent of India's total marine and brackish-water seafood exports by value. The Secondary (Industrial and Manufacturing) and Tertiary (Services) sectors posted annual growth rates of 8.4 percent and 9.8 percent respectively.
State economists pointed out that the operational consolidation of all 28 districts has facilitated closer micro-planning in irrigation budgeting, primary health center modernization, and agricultural input credit distribution.
Macroeconomic data from the AP Socio-Economic Survey, sectoral contributions to GSDP (Agriculture ~34%, Industries ~23%, Services ~43%), Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) deficit thresholds, and NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goal (SDG India Index) performance benchmarks are direct, high-scoring examination areas across APPSC Group-I (Paper-III), Group-II, and assistant statistical officer examinations.
