MUMBAI, October 14 — The State Bank of India (SBI) on Wednesday declared the finalized selection list and state-wise cut-off scores for the recruitment of 8,773 Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) on its official career portal (sbi.co.in/careers), concluding the multi-stage 2026 clerical recruitment drive.
According to the notification published by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department (CRPD), the merit compilation is drawn strictly from candidate performance in the 200-mark online Main Examination—evaluating General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. Selected candidates who did not study the local language at the 10th or 12th standard level must clear the mandatory Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) administered by designated circle management committees prior to final appointment.
SBI management confirmed that provisional offer letters and document verification schedules across all 17 administrative circles are being transmitted directly to candidates. A reserve list holding up to 50 percent of state-wise vacancies has been maintained to address attrition and non-joining seats during upcoming quarterly tranches.
The institutional evolution of the State Bank of India (originating as the Bank of Calcutta in 1806, amalgamated into the Imperial Bank of India in 1921, and reconstituted under the SBI Act 1955), regulatory supervision under the Banking Regulation Act 1949, Priority Sector Lending compliance, and macroeconomic systemic importance of Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) are essential knowledge domains for banking and public sector recruitment aspirants.
