NEW DELHI, October 18 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) published the official schedule for the Personality Tests (Interviews) for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026 on Sunday across its official digital platforms.
According to the formal timetable published on upsc.gov.in, oral interviews for shortlisted candidates across the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication engineering disciplines will commence from the second week of November 2026 at Dholpur House, New Delhi. Conducted in two daily sessions—forenoon at 09:00 AM and afternoon at 01:00 PM—the 200-mark assessment evaluates candidates on technical competence, intellectual integrity, logical exposition, and public administration aptitude.
The Commission instructed candidates to download their electronic summons letters and present original verification credentials corresponding to their Detailed Application Form (DAF) submissions. The recruitment drive fills prestigious Group 'A' engineering cadres across the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Indian Naval Armament Service, Military Engineer Services (MES), and Indian Telecommunication Service.
Constitutional mandates governing the UPSC under Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV, the history of technical civil service examinations in India dating back to 1949, allocation rules for All-India and Central Engineering Services, and ethical dimensions of public procurement are foundational topics across UPSC and State PSC syllabus tracks.
