NEW DELHI, August 7 — India and France concluded their 18th Annual Defence Dialogue in New Delhi on Friday, focusing on co-production of military hardware, maritime security, and joint exercises.
Co-chaired by the Defence Secretary of India and the Director General for International Relations of the French Ministry for the Armed Forces, the talks reviewed progress in ongoing defense acquisitions and technology transfers. The two nations discussed closer coordination in the Indian Ocean Region to secure trade routes and ensure maritime security.
The dialogue also outlined plans for future tri-services joint exercises and academic exchanges between defense academies.
Bilateral defense agreements and international partnerships are standard current affairs topics. Candidates should note that France is a key strategic partner for India, particularly in aircraft acquisitions (Rafale) and submarine co-development.
