DEHRADUN, August 7 — Continuous heavy rainfall triggered landslides along several sections of the Char Dham highway routes in Uttarakhand on Friday, leading to temporary road blockages and traffic delays.
The landslides occurred near active zones on the Rishikesh-Badrinath and Rishikesh-Gangotri highways, restricting vehicular movement. Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and local disaster management teams deployed heavy machinery to clear debris and restore traffic flow on the national highways.
The state administration has advised pilgrims and travelers to verify road conditions and monitor weather advisories before starting their journeys.
