NEW DELHI, October 16 — The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways on Friday released the definitive Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination timetable for 9,144 Technician vacancies under Centralised Employment Notice CEN 02/2026 on all regional RRB portals.
As per the technical schedule, multi-session CBTs will take place from the third week of December 2026 through early January 2027 across designated metropolitan centers. The recruitment drive encompasses 1,092 Level-5 posts for Technician Grade-I Signal (open to Bachelor of Science in Physics/Electronics/Computer Science and Engineering diploma holders) and 8,052 Level-2 posts for Technician Grade-III across electrical, mechanical, and track maintenance trades.
The Railway Board reaffirmed that candidate-specific Exam City and Date Intimation Slips will activate 10 days prior to the examination, with admit card downloads commencing four days before test sessions following mandatory Aadhaar-based biometric security checks.
The technical architecture of Indian Railways' Signal and Telecommunication (S&T) engineering directorate, the deployment of Electronic Interlocking (EI), indigenous Kavach train collision avoidance protocols, and railway human resource rationalization represent vital technical and general awareness concepts for engineering and railway competitive aspirants.
