NEW DELHI, August 5 — The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) directed Dabur India on Wednesday to stop using "100% natural" labels on certain food products, citing misleading claims.

The food safety regulator reviewed product ingredients following consumer complaints and noted that the products contained added sugars, preservatives, or artificial flavorings that contradict the "100% natural" branding. The authority directed the company to adjust labels to display accurate ingredient lists.

The regulator stated it will monitor compliance and take action against companies violating advertising guidelines.

Consumer protection laws and statutory bodies are regularly featured in competitive exams. Candidates should know that the FSSAI is a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
