NEW DELHI, August 4 — Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat, along with other prominent female athletes, announced on Tuesday plans to appeal against the trial court's acquittal of former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The athletes stated that they will file an appeal in the High Court, challenging the trial court's evaluation of testimonies and evidence presented in the case regarding allegations of sexual harassment. Police security was maintained near the sports training complexes following the announcement.

The WFI has urged athletes to focus on the upcoming international tournament selections while the legal processes are resolved by the courts.

Sports administration developments and major judicial appeals often feature in current affairs. Candidates should note that the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) is the governing body for wrestling in the country, affiliated with United World Wrestling (UWW).
