Industrial Promotion Officers work in the District Industries Centres and the Commissionerate of Industries: single-window clearances, incentive schemes for MSMEs, land in industrial parks and the industrial-policy targets of the state. The job is administrative, so the test is general studies plus applied engineering and management, not a core branch paper.
How to apply
Register once on OTPR at psc.ap.gov.in (see the OTPR registration guide), then submit the online application by 5 November 2026. The detailed notification is out; read its eligibility, fee and centre sections before paying.
Read the official notification first. Facts that change with each notification (posts, dates, fee, age) are taken only from it.
Exam pattern (reported)
Single-level computer-based test, no screening test. Paper I General Studies and Mental Ability (150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes); Paper II Applied Science, Engineering and Management, diploma standard (150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes); 300 marks in all. One-third negative marking. Minimum qualifying marks of 40 percent for OC and EWS, 35 for BC and 30 for SC, ST and PwBD. A qualifying Computer Proficiency Test (100 marks, 60 minutes) follows.
Prepare with Pareeksha
Paper II is diploma standard across engineering branches plus management, so breadth beats depth: revise the basics of every branch and industrial management, and give Paper I the same daily hour as any APPSC single-level test. Use fixed-paper General Studies mocks where every candidate sits the same paper and the percentile is real. Start from the Andhra Pradesh exam list and the B.Tech, Diploma and ITI jobs guide.
