Mango is a fruit and perennial orchard crop. Chittoor district's official activity page discusses mango area expansion and varieties for processing, providing a sourced southern AP association. Annamayya's district page also lists mango among horticultural crops. These facts do not justify treating all mango production as located in one district; nor do they establish which district ranks first in an unquoted year.
An orchard requires planting material, establishment time, water and post-harvest handling different from annual paddy. Fruit for fresh sale and fruit for processing may follow different quality or variety preferences. Chittoor's page names mango within Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture activity; this is a programme context, not proof that every proposed orchard was planted. The current AP map can mark Chittoor as an example and direct the reader to the district page.
Worked example: Mango orchards in southern AP illustrate perennial horticulture. An orchard may be planted years before full bearing, so planted area and harvested production do not move in lockstep. A district's mango-processing unit may source fruit across borders. When studying a map, mark a documented cluster but avoid declaring all fruit in the state belongs there.
Active recall: Classify mango, name a documented southern district association and explain why a new orchard is not an annual crop field.
