World Circular Economy Forum 2026 commences in Gandhinagar

GANDHINAGAR, September 15 — The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 commenced in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Tuesday, bringing together environmental policymakers, industry leaders, and scientific researchers from over 60 countries.

Organised in partnership with international environmental bodies, the forum focuses on resource efficiency, industrial waste recycling, circular supply chain models, and sustainable urban planning. Discussions highlighted India's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and clean technology initiatives.

Environment Ministry officials highlighted that transitioning to circular manufacturing could create millions of green jobs while reducing national carbon intensity.

गांधीनगर, 15 सितंबर — वर्ल्ड सर्कुलर इकोनॉमी फोरम (WCEF) 2026 मंगलवार को गुजरात के गांधीनगर में शुरू हुआ, जिसमें 60 से अधिक देशों के पर्यावरण नीति निर्माताओं, उद्योग नेताओं और वैज्ञानिक शोधकर्ताओं ने हिस्सा लिया।

अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यावरण निकायों के सहयोग से आयोजित यह फोरम संसाधन दक्षता, औद्योगिक अपशिष्ट रीसाइक्लिंग, वृत्ताकार आपूर्ति श्रृंखला मॉडल और सतत शहरी नियोजन पर ध्यान केंद्रित करता है। चर्चाओं में भारत के विस्तारित उत्पादक उत्तरदायित्व (EPR) नियमों और स्वच्छ प्रौद्योगिकी पहलों को रेखांकित किया गया।

पर्यावरण मंत्रालय के अधिकारियों ने जोर दिया कि सर्कुलर मैन्युफैक्चरिंग में बदलाव से राष्ट्रीय कार्बन तीव्रता को कम करते हुए लाखों हरित नौकरियां पैदा हो सकती हैं।
