NEW DELHI, October 1 — The Ministry of Education along with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on Thursday formally released the new generation of digital interactive textbooks for Classes 9 through 12, developed strictly in accordance with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) aligned with NEP 2020.
Hosted on the national DIKSHA platform and PM e-VIDYA digital channels, the digitized textbooks incorporate augmented reality (AR) visual simulations, embedded conceptual quizzes, multilingual audio explanations, and practical inquiry exercises aimed at transitioning secondary education away from rote memorization toward experiential learning.
Union Education officials highlighted that the educational materials are being rolled out across 22 scheduled Indian languages, bridging the digital learning divide and equipping students with foundational scientific literacy, computational thinking, and interdisciplinary competence across CBSE and participating state boards.
The pedagogical architecture of the National Education Policy 2020 (5+3+3+4 system, formulated under the K. Kasturirangan Committee), institutional frameworks like NCERT and NCTE, the Right to Education under Article 21A, and national digital education portals form central components in UPSC Civil Services (GS-II: Social Justice & Education) and State Teaching Eligibility Tests (CTET/TET).
