On 15 September 2026 the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission published twenty brief notifications in one go, numbered 07/2026 to 26/2026. Three of them became detailed notifications on 6 October and opened for applications the same day. The rest open in stages through October, and the earliest of them close before the end of the month. For a candidate this is both good news and a problem. Good, because there has not been a spread of posts this wide from the Commission in one month for a long time. A problem, because twenty notifications with different qualifications, different windows and different examination schemes cannot all be read in an evening, and the first deadline, 27 October, is close.
This post does the sorting. It puts all twenty notifications in one table, then turns the table around and asks the question a candidate actually has: given my qualification, which of these can I apply for, and which of them share a syllabus so that one preparation serves two or three applications? It also fixes a few things that have been reported wrongly elsewhere, the most important being that Group-II is not among these twenty. It is a later-phase item. The post ends with the One Time Profile Registration step that every application now needs, a calendar of the windows in date order, ten practice questions on the facts, and a set of frequently asked questions.
As on 10 October 2026. Source: the APPSC web note of 15 September 2026 listing Brief Notifications Nos. 07/2026 to 26/2026; the detailed notifications of 6 October 2026 for Group-I (07/2026), Assistant Environmental Engineer (08/2026) and Horticulture Officer (19/2026); the brief notifications for Forest Section Officer (17/2026), Forest Beat Officer (18/2026) and Assistant Statistical Officer (20/2026); and the web note of 29 September 2026 on the modified OTPR, all at psc.ap.gov.in and read as PDFs on 9 October 2026. Where this post says "see notification", the figure was not re-verified from the PDF on that date and should be read from the Commission's page before you rely on it. Vacancy counts in brief notifications are provisional and can change in the detailed notification; the Group-I count already moved from 163 to 166 between the two documents.
What "Phase II" means and what it does not
The State's recruitment calendar for 2026, as reported in the press and discussed in our AP job calendar 2026 post, divides the year's direct recruitment into four phases with notification targets in May, September and October. The twenty APPSC brief notifications of 15 September, together with the police board's notices of 16 and 17 September, are what the reported calendar called the second phase. Only the APPSC part is covered here; the police notices have their own windows and are tracked in the October notifications tracker.
Three things the phase label does not do. It does not tell you the examination date of any post; each notification fixes its own. It does not mean the posts are linked in any way for selection; every notification is a separate recruitment with its own merit list. And it does not include Group-II, Group-III, Group-IV or the teacher recruitment. Those belong to the later phases, and the reported target for the next set of notifications is 15 October 2026. More on that in the reality-check section below.
The master table: all 20 notifications
Numbers are in the Commission's numbering order. "CBT" is the Commission's computer-based test; "CBRT" is the same thing under the name the forest notifications use. "See notification" means the brief notification contains the figure but it was not re-verified for this post on 9 October; the October tracker, which was built from the 15 September web note, carries the provisional counts for most of these rows.

Two reading notes. First, the counts for Forest Section Officer, Forest Beat Officer, Forest Range Officer and Assistant Statistical Officer are from brief notifications and are marked provisional in those documents. Second, the Group-I figure is from the detailed notification and is therefore the firmest number in the table, though even that notification reserves the right to add vacancies by addendum before the screening test. Our companion posts read each of the four best-documented notifications in full: Group-I, Forest Beat Officer, Forest Section Officer and Assistant Statistical Officer.
Which notification for which qualification
This is the section to read if you only read one. It groups the twenty notifications by the qualification a candidate holds, says which ones that profile can apply to, and points out where the examination schemes overlap so that preparation is shared. It uses only the qualification clauses that have been verified; where a post's qualification is marked "see notification" in the table, it is mentioned here as a probable fit by its title, and you must confirm it in the brief notification before applying.
Intermediate (10+2) only
The one notification in this set with Intermediate as the qualification is the Forest Beat Officer, 18/2026. Twenty-three posts, applications 16 October to 5 November, a single-level computer-based test with no screening stage, and then a walking test and a medical examination. The written examination has a qualifying essay on forests and environment (50 marks, 45 minutes, in English, Telugu or Urdu), Paper I General Studies and Mental Ability (100 questions, 100 marks, 100 minutes) and Paper II General Science and General Mathematics at SSC standard (100 questions, 100 marks, 100 minutes). One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
If you have only Intermediate, this is your Phase II application. The physical requirements, age and fee will be in the detailed notification, which the brief notification says will be published on or before the opening date. Do not pay a fee before reading it. A candidate who is also a graduate should still look at this post, because the same General Studies and Mental Ability preparation serves the degree-level posts described below.
Any bachelor's degree, no subject condition
Three verified notifications take any degree. Group-I Services, 07/2026, 166 posts, closes on 27 October. Executive Officer Grade-III, Endowments, 23/2026, where the brief notification asks for a bachelor's degree with no stream specified, with the statutory condition of the Endowments Act on religion that our Executive Officer guide explains; read the notification for the count and window. And, for graduates who also meet the Intermediate condition trivially, Forest Beat Officer, 18/2026, if you can meet the physical standards and want a field post.
Among the "see notification" rows, several are posts whose titles suggest a degree-level qualification without a subject restriction: Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II (25/2026), Assistant Social Welfare Officer and Assistant Tribal Welfare Officer (26/2026), District Probation Officer (12/2026) and Industrial Promotion Officer (24/2026). Some of these may ask for a particular subject or a post-graduate degree, so they are listed here as rows to open, not as rows to assume. The Reporters notification (22/2026) is likely to ask for a shorthand speed in addition to a degree; again, read the document.
The overlap for an any-degree candidate is the biggest in the set. The Group-I screening test is two papers of 120 questions: Paper I General Studies (History and Culture; Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations; Indian and AP Economy and Planning; Geography, 30 marks each) and Paper II General Aptitude (60 questions of mental ability and administrative and psychological abilities, 30 of Science and Technology, 30 of current events). Put those two papers together and you have the content of the single General Studies and Mental Ability paper that the Executive Officer notification (150 questions), the Assistant Statistical Officer notification (150 questions) and the forest notifications (100 or 150 questions) each carry as Paper I. The standard differs, degree level for the degree posts and SSC level for the Forest Beat Officer, and the Group-I paper goes deeper into economy and polity than the others, but the topics are one family. A graduate who prepares the Group-I screening syllabus properly has done the General Studies half of every other Phase II paper.
Degree with Statistics, Mathematics or Economics
The Assistant Statistical Officer, 20/2026, is the largest single recruitment in this phase by vacancy count: 196 posts, applications 13 October to 2 November, a single-level computer-based test at degree standard with Paper I General Studies and Mental Ability (150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes) and Paper II Subject (150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes), total 300, one-third negative marking. The qualification is a bachelor's degree with Statistics as a main subject, or a degree in Mathematics or Economics where Statistics is a paper; the brief notification lists the exact routes, and the Assistant Statistical Officer roadmap walks through them. The phrase that decides eligibility is "Statistics as a paper": check your marks memos before you assume.
The same profile should open the Assistant Director, Economics and Statistical Service, 09/2026, which is the gazetted post in the same department. It is a separate notification with its own count, window and qualification, and it may ask for a post-graduate degree; read it rather than assuming that an Assistant Statistical Officer applicant is automatically eligible. A Statistics or Mathematics graduate is also eligible for the Forest Section Officer, 17/2026, whose qualification list includes Mathematics and Statistics as subjects, and of course for Group-I and the Executive Officer post as a graduate.
The overlap here is specific. Paper I of the Assistant Statistical Officer examination is the General Studies and Mental Ability paper discussed above. Paper II is the subject paper, which no other Phase II notification shares. A Statistics graduate therefore prepares General Studies once for Group-I, ASO and FSO, and prepares the Statistics paper once for ASO alone.
Science degrees: Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry
The natural home for a science graduate in this phase is the Forest Section Officer, 17/2026: 26 posts, applications 16 October to 5 November, qualification a bachelor's degree with Botany, Forestry, Horticulture, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology or Agriculture as a subject. The examination is a single-level computer-based test with a qualifying language test (General English 50 and General Telugu 50, 100 questions, 100 minutes, SSC standard, qualify in each), then Paper I General Studies and Mental Ability (150 questions, 150 marks), Paper II Mathematics at SSC standard (150, 150) and Paper III General Forestry (150, 150), each of 150 minutes, one-third negative marking, followed by a walking test and a medical examination.
A Horticulture or Agriculture graduate should also open the Horticulture Officer, 19/2026, which is already open (6 to 27 October) and is a computer-based test with the date to be announced; the count and the exact qualification wording are in the notification. A Chemistry graduate should look at the Analyst Grade-II, A.P. Pollution Control Board, 21/2026, and at the Assistant Director, State Forensic Science Laboratory Service, 11/2026, both of which are science-department posts whose qualification clauses must be read from the brief notifications. Every science graduate is of course also eligible for Group-I and the Executive Officer post.
The overlap for a science graduate is two-layered. General Studies and Mental Ability is shared with every other degree-level post. Within the forest family, the Forest Section Officer and Forest Beat Officer share the General Studies paper and a Mathematics or General Science and Mathematics paper at SSC standard, so a science graduate who applies to both prepares one Mathematics syllabus; the Forest Section Officer adds General Forestry and the qualifying language test.
Engineering degrees
Three notifications in the table speak directly to engineers. The Assistant Environmental Engineer, A.P. Pollution Control Board, 08/2026, is open now, 6 to 27 October, and its detailed notification was published on 6 October; the count and the branches accepted are in that document. The Forest Section Officer, 17/2026, accepts a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering alongside the science subjects, which is an unusual door for an engineer into a forest post. And Group-I, 07/2026, accepts any degree for twelve of its thirteen post codes and specifically asks for a B.E. or B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or Radio Engineering for the DSP (Communications) post.
Engineers should also open the Inspector of Factories, 14/2026, and the Draughtsman Grade-II (Technical Assistant), Forest, 15/2026, whose titles suggest an engineering or diploma qualification, and check the brief notifications for the exact clause. The guide to AP government jobs for B.Tech, diploma and ITI holders gives the longer view of where engineering degrees fit in State recruitment.
Law and commerce degrees
For this phase there is no notification whose verified qualification clause names law or commerce specifically. A law graduate and a commerce graduate are graduates, so Group-I, the Executive Officer post and, with the physical standards, the Forest Beat Officer post are open to them. A commerce graduate whose degree included a Statistics paper is covered by one of the Assistant Statistical Officer routes; the roadmap post gives the warning that a B.Com without a Statistics paper is not. Among the "see notification" rows, the District Probation Officer (12/2026) and the Reporters post in the Legislature (22/2026) are the ones a law graduate would most naturally open. A commerce graduate should look at Industrial Promotion Officer (24/2026). None of these is confirmed here; read the clause.
The women-only post
Supervisor Grade-I, Women Development and Child Welfare, 13/2026, is the one notification in the set reserved for women. The count, qualification and window are in the brief notification and were not re-verified for this post, so read it directly. It is worth saying what "women only" means in this context: the whole recruitment is restricted to women, which is different from the horizontal reservation of a third of posts for women that applies to the other notifications. A woman candidate who is a graduate therefore has one extra door in this phase that no one else has, in addition to everything above. Our reservation and roster explainer covers how the women's quota is applied in the ordinary case.
A note on age
Age is fixed by each detailed notification. For Group-I, the detailed notification sets 18 to 44 years as on 1 July 2026 for most posts, with 21 to 30 for DSP (Civil) and 18 to 30 for DSP (Communications). For every other notification in this phase, the age band and the relaxations are in the detailed notification, which arrives on or before the day applications open. Relaxations for SC, ST, BC, persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen and some other categories follow the standard rules explained in our age limit and relaxation post; the notification's own table is what counts.
The OTPR step that comes before every application
Nothing in this phase can be applied for without a One Time Profile Registration on the Commission's website, and since 30 September 2026 an existing OTPR is not enough. A web note signed on 29 September 2026 tells all applicants to update their OTPR particulars from 30 September, before applying for any recruitment notification. The reason is the Andhra Pradesh Presidential Order of 2025, which replaced the 1975 order and reorganised local areas into 26 districts, six zones and two multi-zones. The profile now collects school-by-school study details and residence details so that the Commission can work out the district, zone and multi-zone of each candidate for local reservation.
The practical sequence, which is the same for all twenty notifications:
- Log in to the OTPR on psc.ap.gov.in. If you have no profile, create one; it is a one-time profile, not an application.
- Update the study and residence particulars as the modified profile asks, class by class. Keep study certificates for classes 4 to 10, or the residence certificate, within reach, because the local status computed from these entries will be checked at verification.
- Only then open the application for a specific notification. The application pre-fills from the profile; whatever is wrong in the profile becomes wrong in every application.
- Read the detailed notification of that post before paying the fee. For Group-I the fee is Rs 250 as application processing fee plus Rs 120 as examination fee, with the exemptions listed in the notification; other notifications fix their own fee in their detailed versions.
- Save the application PDF and the payment reference. Apply for each notification separately; a Group-I application does not register you for anything else.
The OTPR update and local status post explains the schooling grid and the common mistakes in detail, and the reservation and roster explainer covers what local status does to your chances.
Calendar of windows, in date order
Only verified dates are listed. Notifications whose windows are marked "see notification" in the master table are not placed on this calendar; the October tracker carries their tentative windows from the 15 September web note.
| Date | What happens | Notifications |
|---|---|---|
| 30 September 2026 | OTPR update required before any new application | All |
| 6 October 2026 | Detailed notifications published; applications open | 07/2026 Group-I, 08/2026 Assistant Environmental Engineer, 19/2026 Horticulture Officer |
| 13 October 2026 | Applications open; detailed notification due on or before this date | 20/2026 Assistant Statistical Officer |
| 15 October 2026 (reported target, not official) | Next set of notifications expected: Group-II, DSC and others | Phase III and IV items, not in this table |
| 16 October 2026 | Applications open; detailed notifications due on or before this date | 16/2026 Forest Range Officer, 17/2026 Forest Section Officer, 18/2026 Forest Beat Officer |
| 27 October 2026, 11:59 PM | Applications close | 07/2026 Group-I, 08/2026 Assistant Environmental Engineer, 19/2026 Horticulture Officer |
| 2 November 2026 | Applications close | 20/2026 Assistant Statistical Officer |
| 5 November 2026 | Applications close | 16/2026, 17/2026, 18/2026 forest posts |
| 24 January 2027 | Group-I screening test, OMR, offline | 07/2026 |
The shape of the calendar is a three-week application season from 6 October to 5 November followed by a long preparation run. The only examination date fixed so far is the Group-I screening test. Every other examination date, including those for the Assistant Statistical Officer and the forest posts, will be announced by the Commission later, and a candidate should expect gaps of weeks or months between the last date and the test.
Reality check: Group-II and DSC are not in this phase
Several websites and videos have said that Group-II was notified on 15 September 2026 with a specific number of posts. It was not. The twenty brief notifications of that date are numbered 07/2026 to 26/2026, and none of them is Group-II. The same applies to Group-III, Group-IV and the teacher recruitment (DSC), which is not an APPSC recruitment at all; it is conducted by the School Education department through its own portal.
What is true is that the reported recruitment calendar lists a third and fourth phase with a notification target of 15 October 2026, and that press reports have named Group-II, the Excise posts and the DSC as items expected in that round. These are targets reported in the press, not notifications. As on 10 October 2026 no Group-II or DSC notification exists on an official page. A candidate preparing for Group-II should keep preparing, because the General Studies and Mental Ability syllabus of Group-II prelims is the same family as the Phase II Paper I described above, and should apply now to whichever Phase II post fits, rather than wait for a document that has no official date. When the next set is published, the October tracker and the job calendar post will be the first pages updated.
How to decide, in five minutes
A simple way to use the table:
- Write down your qualification exactly as the marks memo describes it, including subject names.
- Mark every row in the master table whose verified qualification you meet: Intermediate gives you 18/2026; any degree gives you 07/2026 and 23/2026; Statistics, Mathematics or Economics with a Statistics paper adds 20/2026; a listed science subject or Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering adds 17/2026; women add 13/2026.
- Open the brief notification for every "see notification" row whose title fits your subject, and add the ones whose clause you meet.
- Put the rows in order of closing date and apply to the earliest first. As of today that is 27 October for Group-I, the Assistant Environmental Engineer and the Horticulture Officer.
- Prepare General Studies and Mental Ability as one syllabus for all of them, then add the subject papers one post at a time.
Applying to several posts in one phase is normal and the Commission expects it; each notification is a separate application with its own fee. What does not work is applying to a post whose qualification you do not meet in the hope that it will be overlooked. The clause is checked at verification, after the examination, and the candidacy is cancelled at that point.

Frequently asked questions
Is Group-II part of APPSC Phase II 2026? No. The twenty brief notifications of 15 September 2026 run from 07/2026 to 26/2026 and none of them is Group-II. The reported calendar places Group-II in the next phase, with a press-reported target of 15 October 2026 for the notification. Nothing official exists as on 10 October 2026.
Can I apply to more than one of the twenty notifications? Yes. Each is a separate recruitment with its own application and fee. Apply to every post whose qualification you meet, in order of closing date. The Commission's examination dates for different posts are announced separately, and clashes, if any, are handled by the Commission at that stage.
Which Phase II posts can an Intermediate-pass candidate apply for? Among the verified rows, only the Forest Beat Officer (18/2026), applications 16 October to 5 November 2026. The physical standards, age and fee are in the detailed notification, due on or before 16 October.
Which posts can any graduate apply for? Group-I (07/2026), the Executive Officer Grade-III in the Endowments department (23/2026, with the Act's condition on religion), and the Forest Beat Officer if you can meet the physical standards. Several of the "see notification" rows are probably degree-level without a subject condition; read their brief notifications.
Do the different posts share a syllabus? Largely, for the general paper. The Group-I screening test's two papers (General Studies and General Aptitude) together cover the same ground as the single General Studies and Mental Ability paper that the Assistant Statistical Officer, Forest Section Officer, Forest Beat Officer and Executive Officer notifications carry as Paper I. The subject papers (Statistics, Mathematics, General Forestry, Hindu Philosophy and Temple System) are specific to each post.
Is the OTPR update needed if I already have an OTPR from an earlier year? Yes. The web note of 29 September 2026 asks all applicants to update their profile from 30 September 2026, before applying for any notification, because the profile now collects study and residence details for local status under the Presidential Order 2025.
Where are the vacancy counts for the posts marked "see notification"? In the brief notifications on psc.ap.gov.in, and in the Commission's web note of 15 September 2026 which lists all twenty with provisional counts. Our October tracker reproduces those counts; this post lists only the figures re-verified from the PDFs on 9 October.
When will the examinations for the forest posts and the Assistant Statistical Officer be held? Not yet announced. The brief notifications say the examination date will be fixed later. The only examination date fixed in this phase so far is the Group-I screening test on 24 January 2027.
