The Prakasam district ODOP material identifies the Chimakurthy cluster with Black Galaxy Granite. Its dark stone and characteristic appearance make the place-product pair memorable. The official page also discusses quarry locations and associated mineral activities. The marker on this book's mineral map is an approximate Chimakurthy town centre; it does not claim that every licensed quarry surrounds that exact point.
District boundaries matter here too. A candidate should not transfer a Prakasam ODOP label to every mineral in the district. Barytes is associated most strongly with Mangampeta in the current Annamayya context, while Black Galaxy is the Chimakurthy–Prakasam association. The word “galaxy” is a trade label, not a space-science project. Processing can add value through cutting and polishing before transport through AP ports or domestic markets. A shipment record is needed to name a specific export year.
Worked example: Chimakurthy is associated with Black Galaxy granite. A photograph of a dark slab may be suggestive but cannot prove origin or licence status. The Prakasam district record supports the place association. If an exam asks the stone's source, use the documented cluster; if it asks exact quarry limits or current production, consult the lease and dated mining return.
Active recall: Pair Chimakurthy with its named stone and present district; contrast it with Mangampeta.
Three mineral-place pairs
Mangampeta barytes, Chimakurthy granite and Yerraguntla limestone are distinct.
