AP Minerals, Industries, SEZs and Ports · Chapter 44
43 | Three current-affairs traps

First, an investor announcement is rewritten as a completed plant. Second, a notified SEZ is described as operational when only its legal notification is confirmed. Third, a port cargo figure or mineral share loses its financial year. All three errors make a correct-sounding place name carry a false stage or date. The remedy is one line of metadata: stage, issuer, as-of date and unit.

There is also a geography trap. An IBM yearbook occurrence list may use Cuddapah, old East Godavari or old Visakhapatnam, while the present 28-district APSDMA map has different boundaries. Mangampeta is the clearest example. A historic locality did not relocate; only its administrative label did. If an official local page and current district survey differ, identify which period each represents before making an MCQ. Do not “average” the two district names or invent a hyphenated district.

Worked example: Three traps make a rapid source drill: a resource estimate is reported as annual production; a notified SEZ is called operational; and a greenfield port in policy is counted in cargo statistics. Correct each by naming the required official table and date. This is more reliable than memorising a current-affairs headline without its stage or unit.

Active recall: Correct the sentence “All 2024 AP port projects and notified SEZs were fully operational by 2026.”
