AP's Maritime Policy 2024 discusses greenfield port development at Ramayapatnam, Machilipatnam and Mulapeta. The policy describes them as under construction in its issue-year context. By the time of a later exam, construction and commissioning may have advanced, so this book does not assert their 2026 operational status without a fresh board notice. A greenfield site is developed as a new port project; it is not the same as expanding an existing berth.
Map them by relative geography: Mulapeta toward the northern Srikakulam coast, Machilipatnam in Krishna district, and Ramayapatnam on the south-central coast. The Prakasam investment page explicitly places Ramayapatnam village in SPS Nellore even though the page discusses investment opportunities for the wider Prakasam area. Read the site line rather than the page owner as the district. A port policy may propose shipyards or industrial zones nearby; those remain proposals until a separate completion or operating record.
Worked example: A greenfield port appears in the 2024 policy as planned infrastructure. That does not establish an operating berth in the 2024–25 cargo table. The coast map uses a ring for policy sites and a filled marker for sites with recorded cargo. Read the symbol legend before counting ports. A later commissioning notice could change its status, so date every answer.
Active recall: Place the three greenfield names north to south and explain why an old policy's “under construction” label must be refreshed.
