AP Minerals, Industries, SEZs and Ports · Chapter 31
30 | Sri City and the southern AP corridor

Sri City is a multi-product industrial/SEZ complex in the Satyavedu area of southern Andhra Pradesh near the Tamil Nadu border. Department of Commerce lists use older Chittoor district wording for its original notification; current district geography places the Satyavedu area in Tirupati district. The difference should be stated rather than silently “correcting” the original legal record. Sri City's sector is multi-product, not only one commodity.

Its location benefits from access to Chennai-region markets, roads, rail and coastal logistics, but a particular tenant or employment number must be checked at the relevant date. A multi-product SEZ may host varied industries. Do not infer that every unit inside it makes electronics or that the whole district is an SEZ. On a map, mark the Satyavedu area as an approximate complex location and keep the current district outline visible.

Worked example: Sri City lies on the southern AP corridor near interstate markets. Its industrial identity is stronger than a single product label because multiple sectors can operate there. A current district answer should follow today's map; an older brochure may use a former district description. Investment announcements, factory openings and actual exports require separate dated evidence.

Active recall: Give Sri City's broad sector and explain old Chittoor versus present Tirupati wording.
