AP Minerals, Industries, SEZs and Ports · Chapter 32
31 | Atchutapuram, Brandix and changing districts

APIIC's historical SEZ list identifies Atchutapuram as a multi-product site and Brandix India Apparel City as a textile/apparel site in the older Visakhapatnam district. After the 2022 reorganisation, Atchutapuram is in the Anakapalli region. The central lists may retain original notification text. A candidate should map the physical place first, then cite the document's dated district label where necessary.

Two nearby SEZs can have different sectors and developers. Atchutapuram multi-product and Brandix apparel should not be merged into one “Brandix steel port.” A port nearby may help exports, but it is not automatically inside the same SEZ parcel. APIIC's industrial-cluster pages also discuss development proposals around the corridor; a proposal is a different stage from an operational SEZ entry. The map uses separate labels to avoid combining legal entities because their names share a locality.

Worked example: Atchutapuram and the Brandix apparel context appear under changing district labels after AP's later reorganisations. The industrial location remains, but the administrative district shown in a 2015 source may differ from the 2026 map. A question about current jurisdiction needs the new district; a history question should retain the old source's year.

Active recall: Which Atchutapuram-linked site is the apparel example, and which is multi-product?
