19 | Harika Dronavalli and chess categories

FIDE identifies Harika Dronavalli as a grandmaster, with the GM title awarded in 2011. Its biography links her birth to Guntur and records a world under-20 title in 2008. A junior world championship, a chess Olympiad team result and a women's world championship result are separate competitions. It is misleading to compress them into “world champion” without age group, format and event name.

FIDE also identifies her as the second Indian woman to earn the full GM title after Koneru Humpy. This historical order is a title claim, not a live ranking. Harika's Guntur association is therefore appropriate for a broad map label, while FIDE's current rating table should never be printed as an undated permanent fact. In MCQs, the familiar surnames Koneru and Dronavalli are close enough to invite a swapped-title error; attach the GM year and the particular result to each.

Worked example: Harika Dronavalli has chess titles and tournament achievements distinct from Humpy's rapid crowns. When both appear in options, identify whether the stem names a player profile, title, Olympiad or particular championship result. Similar first names or shared AP association are weak clues. A FIDE final standing is stronger evidence for a specific event than a general biographical paragraph.

Active recall: Pair Humpy and Harika with their respective GM years and one distinct championship result.
