AP Sports, Awards and Firsts · Chapter 27
26 | AP sports bodies and district access

The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh is a state-level coordinating body. District Sports Authorities are closer to selection camps, coaching activities and local participation. West Godavari's official district page describes district selections and sending teams to state rural, women and Khelo India-linked events. Visakhapatnam district lists sports officers, showing the administrative contact route. Those pages demonstrate an institutional ladder, not a guarantee that every listed programme operates identically in every district.

When a current-affairs question asks which office carries out a selection, read the scope. A district event is not a BWF or IOC selection simply because talented athletes may later reach international level. AP's 2024–29 policy is an umbrella statement; local circulars and event notices supply actual dates, eligibility and venues. Candidates should recheck a live notice before relying on an older schedule. For map recall, place district centres within the current outline rather than drawing imaginary facilities.

Worked example: A district sports authority office can route applications or facilities, while state policy sets a broader framework. Neither office address proves that every mandal has a coach or stadium. Use the current district portal to confirm contact, then a sanctioned facility list to confirm a venue. A schematic map marker is only a practical access clue.

Active recall: Which body is closer to a West Godavari district selection: its District Sports Authority or the IOC?

The district sports-office map is an access aid. Confirm a facility or programme from its own current sanction or operating notice.

Current district geometry: APSDMA. Sports results, awards and policy: credited issuing bodies.
