The Paralympic Games are organised for eligible para-athletes in classification-specific events. They are distinct from the Olympic Games, and a Paralympic medal should be named as such without treating it as lesser evidence. Event classification identifies the impairment and sporting rules under which a result is compared. An AP candidate should learn the classification string if the official result makes it a likely exam fact, rather than changing it into an able-bodied event label.
The Ministry's sports reports discuss para-badminton, para-shooting and para-athletics in their own categories. A person can win a national honour for a para-sport performance. Do not mix Special Olympics, Deaf Games and Paralympics: each has a different organiser and participation criteria. For a first claim, ask “first in which movement, sport, class, country and edition?” Without those qualifiers, a superlative can erase an earlier athlete in another competition.
Worked example: Para-sport results use classifications that make events fair for athletes with different impairments. A Paralympic medal is not an Olympic medal, though both are major elite achievements. Keep sport, class and competition in the answer. Avoid using a generic national medal table to infer a particular athlete's classification; consult the relevant event result.
Active recall: Why must a para-sport medal statement include its Games and event classification?
