Pulichintala is a Krishna project below Nagarjuna Sagar and above the Vijayawada delta barrage in the study sequence. APWRIMS lists Pulichintala Project under the Krishna basin and Palnadu. It helps regulate releases for downstream irrigation and power or water-management purposes, but current operations must be read from a dated bulletin.
Do not use an old combined-district label to move the dam site in 2026. First answer river and upstream/downstream order; only then address the district and present operating figures.
Worked example: Pulichintala belongs on the Krishna between Nagarjuna Sagar and Prakasam Barrage in an upstream-to-downstream exercise. It should not be placed after the delta barrage. A candidate who memorises only the river might miss this sequence question, so mark all four points on the same line. A capacity figure in a dated report is a separate memorisation item and should not be guessed from a map symbol.
Active recall: Locate the named river or project on the relevant map, name its function, and state which facts need a dated source.
