Large reservoirs can submerge land and affect settlements, forests and transport routes. Rehabilitation and resettlement are therefore part of a project, not an afterthought. The river project’s district or basin map cannot tell whether every affected household has received a particular benefit; that requires dated administrative records.
A project can advance physically while resettlement, canal works or clearances follow different schedules. Keep these components separate in exam notes and in public-safety planning.
Worked example: A reservoir can require land acquisition, resettlement and environmental conditions while construction progresses. A water-use question may mention a project as if it were only a wall across a river; the actual system includes affected settlements and downstream ecology. When answering status, distinguish engineering completion from rehabilitation compliance. Use the issuing authority's dated report rather than a promotional project summary for a current claim.
Active recall: Locate the named river or project on the relevant map, name its function, and state which facts need a dated source.
