AP Rivers, Dams and Irrigation Projects · Chapter 28
27 | Mylavaram and Kadapa link

Mylavaram is another Kadapa-region reservoir association near Gandikota and the Penna-side water system. The YSR Kadapa district tourism page mentions Mylavaram Dam near the fort. A reservoir name can also be a town or mandal name elsewhere in AP; location and river context disambiguate it.

Do not infer that all Kadapa reservoirs are directly on the main Penna without a site record. Some storage sits on tributary or canal routes. The specific project source determines the correct hydrologic description.

Worked example: Mylavaram may appear with other Penna-region works in a Kadapa water-route question. Distinguish the local reservoir from a canal or regulator: one stores water, the others move or control it. When two projects are linked, do not infer that the entire command received water in a given season. Use the project map for topology and an official irrigation return for actual area served.

Active recall: Locate the named river or project on the relevant map, name its function, and state which facts need a dated source.
